From upload to restore

Upload from your browser
Choose your files, or drag them in. A single file can be up to 100 GB, and large files are sent in parts and retried automatically if your connection drops. Your browser makes small previews of your photos and videos before they go up, so browsing is instant later.

Two days in fast storage
New uploads rest in fast storage for about two days. During that time you can download them straight away, with no waiting.

Then low-cost cold storage, automatically
After two days your files move to cold (archival) storage by themselves. There is nothing to sort or schedule. This is what keeps Oneloft a fraction of the price of a normal cloud drive.

Browse and search any time
Names, dates, folders and previews stay instant even when the original is in cold storage, so you never wait just to look. Search finds files by name.

Restore the original when you need it
Ask for a restore and it is ready within 12 hours, usually sooner. We email you the moment it is done, and the restored copy stays available to download for 3 days. Downloads count against your plan’s monthly allowance, and you can add extra downloads any time.
What is instant, and what takes time
The only thing that is not instant is downloading an original from cold storage.

Keep it organised and private
Folders
Group files into folders, move them around freely, and see each folder’s size and what changed recently. Moving a file is instant and free; nothing is copied.
Private files and folders
Mark files or whole folders private. They are hidden from lists and search until you unlock them with a one-time code we email you, which opens them for 15 minutes.
Deleted files
Delete a file and it waits in Deleted files for 30 days, so a mistake is never final. The space it used is free straight away.
Originals untouched
Oneloft never compresses, resizes or converts what you upload. You get back exactly the bytes you put in.
What previews do we make?
Pictures and videos your browser can display get previews: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and AVIF images, and MP4, MOV and WebM video. Every other file type, including RAW, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, PDF and audio, is stored untouched and shows a file-type icon. You can still search for it by name and restore the original.
If you stop paying
Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. After that you can still browse your files, but uploads and downloads pause until you resubscribe. We keep your files for 90 days (7 days if you never paid) and email you before anything is deleted.
