What to know about video
Oneloft makes a preview frame for MP4, MOV and WebM files your browser can play. Footage in formats browsers cannot decode, such as many ProRes or professional camera codecs, is stored untouched and shows a file-type icon, and you find it by name and folder. Oneloft is for archiving finished and rarely-opened work, not for editing from the cloud, and it does not sync with your editing software.
Questions
How big can a single video file be?
Up to 100 GB per file. Larger files can’t be uploaded.
Will I get a preview of my footage?
For MP4, MOV and WebM files your browser can play, yes: we make a preview frame. For other formats, including many ProRes and camera-specific codecs, the file is stored untouched and shows a file-type icon.
Can I edit directly from Oneloft?
No. Oneloft is long-term archive storage. Restore the files you need, download them, and work from your own drive.
How much of my footage can I download each month?
Each plan includes 20, 30 or 50 GB of downloads a month (Essential, Plus, Pro) and you can add 50 GB or 100 GB packs when you need more. Browsing and previews are free.
